Day 12: Goodbye Beijing!! (and the SMOG)

Have to do a correction to yesterday's post first: Oops, we leave the hotel at 1:00pm not fly out at that time. Our plane actually leaves at 5pm. I told you I was tired from waking up so early with Cherry Blossom.

We are all packed and ready to go! I hope to update about our plane trip tonight when we reach Guangzhou. We are praying for an uneventful trip!

Last night we decided to celebrate our last day in Beijing with a special cake for our Cherry Blossom. When she was at the orphanage we sent her a cake through a third party. Her orphanage would never share pictures of her with the cake unfortunately, but after a lot of begging on this trip they finally gave me a thumb drive we had also sent and it had pictures with her and her cake! I was finally able to go down to the business center to look at these pictures yesterday and I loved seeing so many of them. I will post one below so that you can see the size of her cake!! The cake we bought yesterday for her was probably 1/8 of the size she had gotten at the orphanage, but this cake we got to watch her eat! She loved it! She also found some other things at the bakery she could not live without. Of course we are spoiling her right now so we bought some yummy cookies too!!

We also went to the one Chinese Restaurant that the Rock and I had come to on our first full night in Beijing. We wanted to end our trip here with a bang. We liked this place so much that we actually went there 3 times while we here. The Rock loved the fresh steam dumplings while I had sweet and sour chicken probably for the 5th time on our trip. Cherry blossom let her mama practice her chopstick skills and let her feed her the puffs on her high chair. We had a great night celebrating our last night here!

This morning was a little harder. I think Cherry Blossom is confused by all of packing and that is understandable since this has been her home for over a week. When we went to breakfast apparently she thought she was going outside and began to cry when we went to breakfast instead. At breakfast she commenced with throwing her fruit and began to cry when we took the fruit off of her tray. She screamed and cried until her Baba had to take her back to the room. Once she got to the room she was fine, she just was not ready for breakfast. We hope this the only tantrum we get today :)

We are going to go take her for a walk now since we have some time to waste and she is getting bored. A bored Cherry Blossom is not good :) Hopefully the internet will work in our next hotel!
